Space Sheriff Shaider is a Japanese tokusatsu television series produced by Toei Company and broadcast on TV Asahi from 1984 to 1985. Created by Shozo Uehara, it is the third installment in the Space Sheriff trilogy, following X-or (Gavan) and Sharivan.
The plot follows Dai Sawamura, an archaeologist recruited by the Galactic Police to become the new Space Sheriff. Under the codename Shaider, he must protect Earth from the Fuuma criminal organization, a mysterious entity from a strange dimension that seeks to conquer the universe through chaos.
The character of X-or, also known as Gavan, is the pioneer of this line of galactic vigilantes. A legendary warrior with a steely temperament and an unwavering sense of justice, he serves as a mentor and role model for his successors. Clad in his silver battle armor, he remains the absolute icon of heroes in metal armor.
